North Carolina Driving School, Inc.was established in 1989 under the name Pitt County Driving School. From 1989 to 1991 we only contracted with private students to provide classroom and behind-the-wheel training for both teenagers and adults. In 1991, Pitt County Driving School became known as Moore’s Driving School. It was in 1991 that we first started contracting with Public School Systems. In this capacity we encountered rapid growth, contracting with twelve (12) school systems and a host of private schools. We have continued to expand each year. In 1999, we decided since we were contracting with Public School Systems all across the state that we should change our name to represent all of our service area. So, we changed our name to North Carolina Driving School, Inc. This name represents our company and the systems we serve from the coast to the mountains. Today, North Carolina Driving School contracts with thirty (30) school systems and many private schools across the state. We employee a staff of over 161 experienced and dedicated instructors. We are very proud to serve over 23,000 Public School students each year, and we do so with an impeccable safety record. Our goal is to put safe young drivers on our roadways. If we can be of any assistance, please do not hesitate to contact Mark C. Smith at 1-800-375-6550.

In many counties we employ managers and coordinators to help us provide a quality program. These managers provide us with feed back on personnel as well as provide a line of communication with the school system central office and high school administration. Our coordinators help us organize student registrations, student classes, and in some areas they are designated to issue Driver Eligibility Certificates.
